Troubleshooting access issues
Cannot see Risk Register in the sidebar
If Risk Register doesn’t appear:
- Verify installation: Go to Jira Settings → Apps → Manage apps and confirm Simple Risk Register is listed and enabled
- Check project access: Ensure you have at least “Browse Projects” permission in the project
- Wait a few minutes: Sometimes app navigation takes a moment to refresh after installation
- Check app restrictions: Your Jira admin may have restricted app visibility to certain projects or groups
Cannot see the Related risks panel
If the issue panel doesn’t appear:
- Enable Related Risks panel: Click the gear icon right below the issue summary field and select the Related Risks menu item
- Check issue view: Some custom issue layouts may hide panels - try the standard view
- Refresh the page: The panel may need a page refresh to appear
- Check permissions: You need permission to view the issue
Required access model
Simple Risk Register follows Jira’s permission model:
| Action | Required Permission |
|---|---|
| View risks | Browse Projects |
| Create risks | Browse Projects |
| Edit risks | Browse Projects |
| Delete risks | Browse Projects |
| Link issues | Browse Projects + Issue visibility |
Note: There is no separate permission model within the app. Any user who can access the project can manage its risks.
